THE past meets the future as lecturer Nicolas Oddy sits atop his penny farthing opposite Patrick Harvie, leader of the Scottish Green Party, on an eco-friendly electric bike.

They are taking part in Glasgow School of Art's Go Green Week, seven days of action on climate change in schools, colleges and universities across the country.

People taking part in the event, which is running until Monday, will be able to get their bikes checked over, try an electric bike or become a vegetarian for the day.
