PLANS have been submitted to transform Dalkeith Country Park into a landmark tourist destination.

Owned by the Duke of Buccleuch, the application for the 500-acre site to Midlothian Council outlines proposals for a hi-tech adventure playground, mountain bike trails and walks, together with a new food and farm shop within the Stable Yard.

A consultation with members of the local community will take place during the coming weeks and an online survey has been launched.
