SALSA aficionado Sakhr Sherrabeh hot steps it as part of a new bid to raise funds for families displaced by the Syrian war refugee camps.

Along with Islamic Relief and former MSP Pauline McNeill, he has organised the Salsa Fundraiser for the Syrian People. Dancing with Mr Sherrabeh at the Garage night club was Rugile Bazyte from Garnethill.

At least 100,000 people are estimated to have been killed in the conflict and a further 6.5 million have been internally displaced.

Islamic Relief are providing 6000 blankets, mattresses and plastic sheeting to help displaced families tackle the cold and winter frost.

France's ambassador to the UN Gerard Araud, said Syria was facing "the worst humanitarian tragedy since the genocide in Rwanda in 1994".
