Scots designer Christopher Kane has shown off his latest collection for this autumn and winter, with highlights including patent miniskirts and classic little black babydoll cocktail dresses.

The 32-year-old, originally from Newarthill, North Lanarkshire, was supported by catwalk spectators who included Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, who has championed his career.

Kane is due to open his first store this year in London's Mayfair and displayed slouchy tailoring and thick outerwear among his varied collection at London Fashion Week yesterday.

Kane's first collection of handbags also made its debut on the catwalk. They included sleek leather holdalls and small fun cross body bags in calfskin and crocodile.

The Scot is riding high after fashion giant Kering bought more than half his business as it plans totransform it into a powerful multinational brand.
