ARTIST Stephanie Mann shows off her fresh take on the still life with her new exhibition in Edinburgh.
The recent graduate of Edinburgh College of Art has picked the genre for as the focus for her first solo show since graduating. Titled, 'Inherit this Mango', Ms Mann uses video and photography alongside large wall installations to expand the framing of her works beyond the canvas and the walls become part of the work.
Bursting with vivid colour her striking work gives a contemporary twist to the age-old tradition of the still life, aiming to challenge our perception of boundaries and reality using multiple and mixed media.
The exhibition is at Summerhall, the former Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh, run as a creative hub for artists and a gallery. The exhibition runs until March 22. Picture: Julie Howden.
