A MAN has appeared in court charged with alleged racially aggravated harassment of a Scottish Government minister.

Humza Yousaf, Scotland's Minister For External Affairs and International Development, was allegedly verbally abused in Glasgow city centre at about 4.45pm last Friday.

The alleged incident happened when the Glasgow MSP was selling the Big Issue outside the city's Queen Street Station to raise awareness of homelessness.

Christopher Chisholm, 30, was charged with racially aggravated harassment when he appeared in private at Glasgow Sheriff Court yesterday.

He made no plea or declaration and was released on bail.
