A SCOTS nurse has been struck off for potentially causing "profound" damage to patients by failing to give them their medication and hiding her error from her bosses.

Susan Lang, who had worked as a staff nurse on Tay Ward at Perth Royal Infirmary since 2004 and was promoted to a Senior Staff Nurse in 2007, failed to administer medications for three patients in June 2009, but had signed for these medications as given.

Ms Lang then took a period off work, but when she returned in October 2012, she again failed to give three patients their medication.

At an investigation meeting on 30 November, 2012, Ms Lang made clear she had not intended to make these errors.

She resigned in December 2012.
