A DRINK-driver caught at almost five-and-a-half times the legal limit is awaiting sentencing.

Keith Sinclair, 53, of Dundee, was seen swerving across the road and into the wrong lane on a road by the town's Olympia swimming pool. The police were called.

The fiscal depute, Eilidh Robertson, told Dundee Sheriff Court that the offence took place at around 4pm on December 8 last year.

Police breathalysed Sinclair and he had 184 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35. Sinclair pled guilty on summary complaint to drink driving.

Sentencing has been deferred for reports.

Sheriff George Way said: "I didn't know you could have a reading like that and still stand up."
