An 11-year-old girl who went missing from her home overnight has been found safe and well at a friend's house.

Police launched a major search for Denisa Terkelova, who had last been seen at her home in Queen's Drive, Glasgow, by her father at about 5pm yesterday when she left to go to local shops.

Her family were becoming increasingly concerned for her safety as she had not returned or been in contact with them.

Police Scotland said that she was found safe and well at around lunchtime in the southside of Glasgow.

Police dogs and the force helicopter had been involved in the search.
