A WIFE has spoken of her heartbreak after her husband died suddenly on their honeymoon.

Kenneth Docherty, 61, suffered a heart attack in the Maldives just 24 days after marrying Liz.

The couple had been snorkelling off the tropical islands the day before Mr Docherty's death and he had not complained of feeling unwell until 5am on the day he died.

The pair were married in Dunblane, Perthshire in front of friends and family.

His family said they still expected Mr Docherty to walk through the door.

Mrs Docherty said yesterday: "He was very fit and that's why it was such a shock. He loved to go fishing and hunting and used to go away on golf holidays.

"He also walked the West Highland Way for charity only a few years ago."

Mr Docherty's funeral was held at Perth Crematorium on Monday.
