A jury has ordered actress Lisa Kudrow to pay her former manager 1.6 million dollars (£963,000) in residuals from her work on Friends.

The Los Angeles County Superior Court jury found for Scott Howard, who claimed he had an oral agreement with Kudrow and was owed a percentage of her earnings on the hit TV sitcom.

Kudrow argued that she had already paid Mr Howard more than 11 million dollars (£6.6m) before they parted ways in 2007.

City News Service said evidence during the trial indicated that Kudrow, who starred on Friends from 1994 to 2004, was earning more than one million dollars (£602,000) an episode by the end of the show's run.

Mr Howard worked with Kudrow for 16 years, beginning in 1991.
