A leading care charity's go-kart enterprise has been backed by Glasgow Airport with an award of nearly £40,000 to pay for vehicles.

Kibble's The Experience is currently under construction in the former Rolls-Royce factory in Hillington Park.

As well as Scotland's first indoor electric go-karting track, the venue will host leisure and catering facilities Kibble hopes will create 50 transitional jobs and 50 work placements for 16-24s annually. The scheme will include 20 hours a week of Karting with a Conscience sessions, for those with disabilities who are unable to drive a kart themselves, using tandem go-karts bought with cash from the airport's FlightPath Fund.

Graham Bell, Kibble chief executive, said: "Our programme offers social inclusion to children and adults who would otherwise be unable to experience the thrill of go-karting. The sessions will be a really memorable experience."
