A 20-YEAR-OLD student has appeared in court accused of a Syria-related terror offence.
Mouloud Tahari, from Birmingham, spoke only to confirm his name and date of birth at an appearance in Westminster Magistrates' Court in London on a charge of facilitating terrorism overseas.
He was remanded in custody to reappear at the Old Bailey on March 14.
He is the third person to be charged in connection with the investigation after former Guantanamo Bay detainee Moazzam Begg and Mouloud's mother Gerrie Tahari appeared in court following their arrests last week.
A 36-year-old man who was also held has been released without charge, police said.
Tahari, from Ashway, Sparkhill, is accused of being concerned in a terrorist funding arrangement between December 31 2011 and November 6 2013.
No plea was entered at the hearing today.
But his lawyer Gareth Peirce said outside the court that he denied the charge and he would enter a not guilty plea.
All three suspects were arrested by detectives from the West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit on February 25.
Begg, 45, of Hall Green, Birmingham, is charged with providing training for terrorism in Syria and facilitating terrorism overseas, while Gerrie Tahari, 44, is accused of facilitating terrorism overseas.
Both denied the charges when they appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Saturday. They will also appear at the Old Bailey on March 14.
