DRUGS worth more than half a million pounds have been seized in two police operations just hours apart.

Heroin with a street value of £250,000 was found by police officers who stopped and searched a car on Garscube Road in Glasgow at around 5.15pm on Wednesday. Two men were arrested and detained in police custody.

Officers searched a lorry travelling on the M74 around five hours later. They found cannabis worth around £297,000. A 49-year-old man was arrested.
