AN exhibition of shocking comments by men who have bought sex is to open in Glasgow next week.
The Invisible Men exhibition features online reviews of prostitutes from across the UK, superimposed on blank masks. The only addition is a price tag, showing how much was paid.
The display, which started life as a blog by artist Nia Thomas, is being coordinated by Linda Thompson, the government-funded Challenging Demand officer at Glasgow Women's Support Project.
It will show first at the annual conference of local government body Cosla, then move to Glasgow's Gallery of Modern Art on Saturday March 15.
The Cosla event in Edinburgh will be carefully managed to ensure that people choose to see the images, which include violence, profanity and graphic language, Ms Thompson said.
"It is going to be controversial and viewing it needs to be optional," she said. "What is most shocking is the mundane descriptions of women like pieces of meat."
The intention is to get other people, particularly men, to challenge the attitudes of those who purchase sex, she said.
