A teenager has been charged in connection with a road crash that left three schoolmates dead.

The 16-year-old will appear at Haddington Sheriff Court in East Lothian following the collision in November.

Jenna Barbour, 18, Josh James-Stewart, 16, and 15-year-old David Armstrong were killed when the car they were travelling in hit a wall in Tyninghame.

Robbie Gemmell, 16, survived the crash and was treated for injuries at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

Ms Barbour had just left Dunbar Grammar School after completing sixth year.

The three others were all 5th year pupils at the school when the collision happened.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "A 16-year-old male has been charged following a fatal road collision in Tyninghame, East Lothian, on November 25 2013.

"He is scheduled to appear at Haddington Sheriff Court today."
