KATE Winslet was a little star-struck by her celebrity turnout as she was honoured with a place on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The Oscar-winning actress, making her first post-baby appearance since giving birth to son Bear in December, was presented with the 2,520th star, hours after an earthquake hit Los Angeles in the early hours of March 17.

"I'm completely overwhelmed by the number of people that there are here today. I honestly had no idea this was going to be such a well-attended event especially after the earthquake this morning, which frightened me a lot," she said.

The 38-year-old, who won the Oscar for her role in The Reader, thanked "all the actors and directors" she has worked with.
