Period crime drama Peaky Blinders will fight it out with Broadchurch for Bafta honours at an awards event for behind-the-screen talent.

The BBC show, which stars Cillian Murphy as gang leader Tommy Shelby in 1920s' Birmingham, has six nominations at the British Academy Television Craft Awards, including music, photography and its director Otto Bathurst.

Detective drama Broadchurch has five nominations, including one for its writer Chris Chibnall, who is short-listed alongside the creator of Last Tango in Halifax, Sally Wainwright.

Father Ted creator Graham Linehan is nominated twice for the best comedy writer award - for his work on Count Arthur Strong and The IT Crowd - and faces competition from James Corden and Mathew Baynton for their show The Wrong Mans.

The winners will be announced at a central London ceremony, hosted by Stephen Mangan, on Sunday April 27.
