Celtic clinched their third successive title and, though it was a cruise with only one league defeat so far, some performances stood out.
HEARTS 1 CELTIC 3 (September 14)
Tynecastle is traditionally one of the toughest venues for Celtic but the visitors showed they meant business as Anthony Stokes scored one goal and was involved in two more. Kris Commons opened the scoring from the spot after Stokes' header was controversially adjudged to have struck the hand of Jamie Hamill but Hearts fought back and Jason Holt's deflected drive levelled the game 13 minutes into the second-half. But Neil Lennon's side were too strong. Stokes restored the lead with an unstoppable volley drive in 65 minutes and teed up Teemu Pukki for an easy headed third on his debut from the bench.
ROSS COUNTY 1 CELTIC 4 (November 9)
By the time Celtic travelled to Dingwall they were top of the table and full of confidence. Dutch defender Virgil van Dijk gave the visitors a two-goal lead with a header in either half but County substitute Ivan Sproule gave the home side a lifeline in the 68th minute when he fired in on the rebound. However, County's optimism was short-lived as Wales international Joe Ledley scored twice with headers to extend their lead to seven points.
MOTHERWELL 0 CELTIC 5 (December 6)
Celtic's best league performance was arguably their demolition of Motherwell at Fir Park when the hosts had no answer to their pace, power and purpose. Celtic dominated the first-half although it took until the 44th minute before Commons opened the scoring with a clever backheel. Efe Ambrose - hours after becoming father to a baby girl - added a second in the 54th minute with a header before Commons pounced again to make it 3-0. Stokes drove in number four and Bahrudin Atajic chipped in a late fifth.
ST MIRREN 0 CELTIC 4 (January 5)
Celtic's trip to St Mirren early in the New Year promised to be tricky but an impressive second-half performance saw them run out convincing winners. It took until the 52nd minute for the Parkhead side to get themselves ahead courtesy of a Charlie Mulgrew toe-poke but they never looked back after that. Stokes fired home five minutes later and Commons took centre stage, heading the third in the 69th minute and then rattling his 17th goal of the season two minutes later from close range.
CELTIC 5 INVERNESS CALEDONIAN THISTLE 0 (March 1)
Leigh Griffiths showed why Lennon was so keen to recruit him from Wolves in January with a hat-trick against League Cup finalists Inverness. The Hoops had lost their 26-match unbeaten league record at Aberdeen days previously but the Scotland striker opened the scoring in the 11th minute with his first goal at Celtic Park. Griffiths set up Charlie Mulgrew to double the lead from a corner before thundering in a drive in the 56th minute. Substitute Commons made it 4-0 with a long-distance drive before Griffiths slipped in number five with five minutes remaining.
