THRILL-SEEKERS Mark Adamson, Ben Dodman and Norman Clark helped to launch Scotland's first via ferrata.

A type of climbing route - its name is Latin for iron way - the new facility consists of 450 metres (1476ft) of metal staples and cable bridges and is beside the 90 metre (295ft) Grey Mare's Tail waterfall in Kinlochleven, near Glencoe.

Team GB ice climber Andy Turner, who opened it, said: "The via ferrata will provide novice climbers with the opportunity to experience the exhilaration that climbing can bring."

Anyone using the route is attached to a safety cable.
