EDINBURGH Napier University student Jo Myerscough has won the chance to work alongside New York fashion designer Michael Kaye after creating a dress made of hundreds of plastic triangles.

The 19-year-old, who studies graphic design, took inspiration from Napier's Bones - the first practical calculator invented by mathematician John Napier. Its use of plastic is also a nod to the 1960s, when the university was founded. The competition was run with Tartan Week, and Ms Myerscough is to travel to New York to work with Kaye.
