An American financial services firm is to create 130 jobs in Scotland as it expands its operations.
Alex Salmond hailed Ceridian as being a "world-renowned financial services company that plays a key role in the Scottish financial services sector".
The company employs 270 people in Scotland. It is to set up a research and design technology and IT support centre at its base in Renfrew.
The work is being supported with a cash injection of £1.1 million as part of the Scottish Enterprise Regional Selective Assistance scheme.
Doug Sawers, managing director for Ceridian UK and Ireland, said: "Our association with Scotland has been a long and successful one. We are looking forward to deepening further our technology capability in the UK, and to support our customers with further technology enhancements that will come from this."
Mr Salmond revealed the company's plans on a visit to New York where he met Ceridian managers. He said Ceridian employs many people in Scotland and this will bring the company headcount to 400.
He added the 2013 Ernst & Young Attractiveness Survey described Scotland's performance in attracting investment as "sparkling", and this is "further evidence of it".
Lena Wilson, chief executive officer of Scottish Enterprise, said: "Ceridian's decision to invest in its Renfrew facility and expand is a strong demonstration of the confidence the management has in its Scottish operations. This is a fantastic jobs boost to Renfrewshire."
