Police are appealing for assistance from members of the public and the media in an effort to trace a missing man.

Gary Murphy, 25, also known as Marcus Ciccone, was last seen in a public house in Ingram Street, Glasgow, around 11pm on Sunday, March 23.

He was reported missing by his mother on the evening of Friday, April 4.

Since then an extensive investigation has been ongoing to find him.

Gary from East Kilbride is described as white male, 5ft8 in height, slim build with short brown hair, hazel eyes and wears glasses. He also has a pierced tongue.

Speaking today, Inspector Jamie Campbell of East Kilbride Police, said: "Gary is a sociable man who frequents a number of bars in Glasgow City Centre.

"Enquiries have been made in the bars but no one has seen him since Sunday, March 23.

"He uses the name Marcus Ciccone and most people would know him by that name. He is currently unemployed.

"It is completely out of character for Gary to go missing and not contact his mother.

"I would appeal to anyone who has seen him in the past couple of weeks or has any information as to his whereabouts, to contact the police at East Kilbride on the non emergency telephone number 101."
