Former chairman of defunct Anglo Irish Bank, Sean Fitzpatrick, has been cleared of all fraud charges over a loans-for-shares scheme.

The 65-year-old, from Greystones, Co Wicklow denied providing unlawful financial assistance to a group of clients to buy shares in the bank in July 2008. The jury returned a majority verdict at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
