Police are appealing for information following the disappearance of an East Renfrewshire teenager.

Niamh Cockton, 15, from Clarkston, was last seen at around 11.00pm yesterday evening at her home in Williamwood Drive.

Her parents checked on her a short time after she went to bed and discovered she was gone from her room.

The teenager is around 5'4", with a slim build and light brown hair with blue streaks.

She was last spotted wearing dark skinny jeans, a black T-shirt with a mermaid on the front, a blue hooded top and dark shoes.

Inspector Alan Dickson said: "We have been carrying out extensive enquiries, speaking to family and friends in an effort to locate her.

"However, all attempts to find her have so far proved unsuccessful.

"We are becoming increasingly concerned for Niamh's welfare and I am appealing to anyone who may have seen or heard from her or who has any knowledge as to her whereabouts to contact us."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
