THE Sunday Herald's Paul Hutcheon won Journalist and Political Journalist of the Year in a rewarding night for the newspaper at the Scottish Press Awards on Thursday.
David Pratt, Sunday Herald foreign editor, was named Feature Writer of the Year at the event, at Glasgow's Radisson Blu Hotel.
Sunday Herald staff also narrowly missed out on a clutch of other awards. Susan Swarbrick was runner-up in the Sports Feature Writer of the Year category and Head of News Neil Mackay was runner-up in the Arts/Entertainment Journalist of the Year category.

Ben Riley-Smith, formerly of the Sunday Herald, and former deputy business editor Steven Vass were runners-up in the Young Journalist of the Year and Business Writer categories respectively. On the digital innovation side, Sunday Herald Life app was runner-up.
Sister paper The Herald also had several runners-up: Steven Camley (Cartoonist of the Year), Ian Bell (Columnist of the Year) and Gerry Braiden (Reporter of the Year).
