HE IS known for his colourful depictions of Scottish landscapes and has become one of the nation's most popular artists.
But now John Lowrie Morrison, known as Jolomo, has discovered a new muse in Venice.
A new exhibition of Venetian paintings, including Canal Reflections, pictured left, will be shown in London this month, alongside his trademark landscapes of Argyll and the Scottish islands.
Jolomo was inspired by a 40th anniversary trip to the city with his wife Maureen.
Jolomo: Argyll, The Isles, Venice is being presented by Corrymella Scott Gallery from May 5 to 17. He said: "I had no intention of painting Venice because so many artists have painted it, from Monet, Whistler and Turner to a lot of contemporary painters.
"But I came back with sketches and hundreds of photographs and I've been painting the Italian city ever since."
