A PLANNED marking boycott of university students' work has been called off after lecturers accepted a pay offer.

Members of the University and College Union (UCU) across the UK voted overwhelmingly to accept a 2 per cent offer from employers.

More than 83 per cent of the union's members voted to accept the offer and call off the marking boycott.

UCU general secretary Sally Hunt, said: "Our members have made it overwhelmingly clear that they wish to accept the 2 per cent pay offer."

"We shall be informing universities of their decision and that the marking boycott is off."
