History brought to life
THE world premiere of a play featuring the little-known story of a Scot who changed the course of the Second World War is being performed at the Lyceum Theatre in Edinburgh.
Award-winning actor David Haig has written and stars in Pressure, which examines the role of Scottish meteorologist, Group Captain James Stagg, the son of a Dalkeith plumber, who advised General Eisenhower on when to give the order to send thousands of troops across the Channel in Operation Overlord.
David Haig is an Olivier Award-winning actor best known for his roles in the film Four Weddings and a Funeral, TV series The Thin Blue Line and stage production The Madness of King George III. The production runs until May 24.
