Two films financed in Scotland will be playing at this year's Cannes film festival.
'71, written by Gregory Burke, who wrote the National Theatre of Scotland's Black Watch, will be shown at the movie festival, which begins next week, as well as What We Did On Our Holiday, with David Tennant and Rosamund Pike.
'71, which tells the story of a young soldier during street riots in Belfast in 1971, has received £300,000 from Creative Scotland, the national arts and screen funding body. What We Did on Our Holiday, written by Andy Hamilton and Guy Jenkin, also stars Billy Connolly.
Tennant and Pike take a trip to Scotland to see Tennant's father, played by Connolly, and "a holiday of reconciliation soon turns into an hilarious social minefield."
It received £250,000 from Creative Scotland.
