Damian Callan teaches members of the public to sketch at the National Gallery in Edinburgh during the Festival of Museums, which has celebrated its most popular event to date.

Almost 100 museums and galleries up and down the country took part in the festival at the weekend. Co-ordinated by Museums Galleries Scotland, it provides a range of exciting and surprising events, day and night, in museums and galleries.

Highlights included Horrible Histories sessions, a 1940s tea party and a short film festival.
