THE Scottish Entertainment Awards have been presented at a glittering ceremony, and its organisers are already looking forward to next year.
The winners of no fewer than 20 categories, covering everything from Scotland's Best Bar to Scotland's Best Late-Night Venue, were announced at an awards dinner and variety show in Glasgow.
The winners included the Edinburgh Dungeon, which triumphed in the Best Visitor Attraction category, and Carberry Tower, near Musselburgh, East Lothian, which was named as Scotland's Most Romantic Hotel.
The Largs venue, Lounge, won three awards - Scotland's best pub grub, Scotland's best bar, and best in-house marketing team.
Winners in Glasgow and the west of Scotland included Cail Bruich, in the city's west end, which won best restaurant.
Maggie Mays, in the Trongate, took the award for best live music venue.
The Herald and the Evening Times were the media partner of the awards.
The Herald and Times group sponsored the Most Romantic Hotel award, which was presented by Graeme Smith, assistant editor of The Herald.
Warren Paul, the organiser of the entertainment awards, said: "It has been a fantastic exercise, and it has gone exceptionally well.
"This was the third year of the awards and it was the first year we have extended an invitation to the public to attend.
"We were delighted with their response.
"We ran a competition on social media recently, in which we offered two VIP tickets for the variety show, and we were absolutely inundated with 15,000 entries.
"The response on social media was just off the scale."
Most of the awards were presented during a 'trade only' dinner at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. The focus then shifted to the nearby Clyde Auditorium, where the last of the awards were presented by such stars as Michelle McManus and comedian Des McLean.
The variety show was hosted by Des Clarke and the entertainment was provided by headliner, comedian Lee Nelson, X Factor runner-up Nicholas McDonald, Richard & Adam, from Britain's Got Talent, and comedian Gary Little.
Mr Paul said: "We have the Scottish Italian awards ahead of us in October, but we will be giving some thought to next year's Entertainment Awards."
