A NEW free magazine, Scottish Gardener, is being launched this week by the Herald & Times Group, publishers of The Herald.

It will feature gardening news and events, interviews, garden features, seasonal advice, style and wildlife, while offering unique, quality coverage of gardening in Scotland.

The magazine is aimed at an audience ranging from beginner through to experienced horticulturist.

Availability will be across cities including Glasgow, Edinburgh and Stirling, with more than 500 specialist stockists including garden centres, nurseries, private and public gardens, gardening and outdoor retailers and landscape suppliers.

The Herald will also insert a free copy of the launch issue to every reader in this Friday's newspaper.

Scottish Gardener will be available in a free digital edition format to read on all mobile and tablet devices including the iPad and iPhone.

Publisher, Darren Bruce said: "Following our hugely successful launches of both Scottish Walks and Scottish Cycling in the last two years, Scottish Gardener will soon become the latest addition to our portfolio of 'freemium' publications."
