A patient who absconded during an escorted outing from a secure hospital has been found.

Paul Brownlie, a restricted patient at the Rohallion Secure Care Clinic in Perth, went missing from the outing in the city on Wednesday.

The 33-year-old contacted authorities in Edinburgh after an appeal was made over his whereabouts yesterday.

A Government spokesman had said Mr Brownlie was not a "high risk" but urged the public not to approach him.

He has now returned to the Rohallion clinic.
