Work to retrieve the treasures trapped in the Glasgow School of Art following last week's fire has begun.

Staff and specialist removers began the task of carefully retrieving students works, objects and items from the school today.

Firefighters managed to save most of the building's contents from Friday's fire. However, the building's library was lost in the blaze.

It was announced yesterday that bursaries will be made available to students who lost their work in the fire.
