AN OWL kept a dedicated photographer waiting hours to get a shot of her newborn.

The nocturnal hunter stood tall while photographer Graham McGeorge patiently sat still for 14 hours to get his shot.

Thankfully for Mr McGeorge the red morph - a colour variation of the eastern screech owl - eventually decided to stretch her wings.

As she took flight to higher ground the fluffy owlet, about two-weeks-old, became visible. Scot Mr McGeorge, who now lives in Florida, captured the shot at Okefenokee swamp in Georgia, USA.
