A CHILDREN'S charity is calling on people across the country to help deliver its ChildLine Schools Service to primary schools throughout Scotland.
NSPCC Scotland runs the ChildLine Schools Service which aims to help children's understanding of abuse and how they can stay safe.
By using assemblies and workshops delivered by trained volunteers ChildLine helps children recognise situations where they may need help.
It also tells them how to access support.
All sessions are sensitively tailored to ensure topics are covered in a way which is age appropriate.
The charity, which currently has more than 10,000 volunteers who either help deliver or fund its work, made the appeal ahead of volunteer week next week.
ChildLine Schools Service manager for Scotland, Shaun Friel, said; "Our volunteers really are heroes to us.
"We wanted to celebrate them and the fantastic things that they do to make our work with vulnerable children possible."
