SCOTTISH children's charity Aberlour has announced that Sally-Ann Kelly is to be its new chief executive.

Previously prominent in her role as a director for Barnardo's Scotland, Ms Kelly has spent the last 14 months on secondment to the Scottish Government, working on its Early Years Taskforce and on the Girfec (Getting it right for every child) programme.

She has 20 years of experience in local authority social work and child protection and Ken Dunbar, who left the charity in December.

John Jackson, Vice-chairwoman of Aberlour Board of Directors, said: "This appointment will allow Aberlour to flourish and we will continue to put children at the heart of everything we do.

"I would particularly like to thank the staff, parents and children from our services who participated in the process for their comments and contributions."
