TWO bodies found at a Perthshire beauty spot during a search for a man who went missing have been identified by police.

One of the bodies discovered at Kinnoull Hill in Perth is Donald McPherson, 55, described by police as a vulnerable man who went missing from his home in Perth on Monday morning.

During their search, which involved the mountain rescue team, police also found another body in woodland.

It is Lukazs Kus, 26, a Polish national who was residing in the Tofthill area of Perth at the time of his death. It is unclear how long his remains had been at the spot.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "As previously stated the tragic discoveries of the two men at the same time on Monday are not connected and there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding either of their deaths. "As is normal in such circumstances, reports have been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."

The area which overlooks the River Tay is a known suicide spot.
