A man has been arrested in connection with the death of a man whose body was found in a field almost a decade ago.

The remains of 34-year-old Martin Toner were discovered in a farmer's field at Gallahill Road in Langbank, Renfrewshire in July 2004.

Police said a man aged 56 has been detained in connection with the case.

He is expected to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court tomorrow.

Father-of-two Mr Toner was last seen on the afternoon of June 29 2004 in Langbank's Main Street.

In December, Douglas Fleming from the Aviemore area appeared in court charged with Mr Toner's murder and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

He made no plea or declaration at Paisley Sheriff Court and was bailed pending further examination.
