PAGE boy Charles Adrian Bristow Hope, the son of the Earl of Hopetoun, is believed to have recovered after fainting during the Queen's speech to Parliament on Wednesday.

The ancestral seat of the 12-year-old's family is the 6500-acre Hopetoun House and Estate, in South Queensferry, which the family has owned since 1699.

A loud thud could be heard across the Upper House as the page boy collapsed eight feet from the Queen, just minutes into her speech.

He was immediately assisted by Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall.

The Queen continued her speech as the child was attended to. He was carried out of the chamber to recover.
