A BENEFIT cheat who claimed she could not walk without help was caught out when she was spotted dancing in her local pub.

Jacqueline Kerr, 56, had been receiving benefits for years when the Department of Work and Pensions received a tip-off suggesting "her disabilities were in doubt" and she was living with her husband despite claiming they were apart.

Dumbarton Sheriff Court heard a probe linked Kerr and her husband to the same address in Alexandria, Dunbartonshire, and she admitted cheating after being confronted with a DVD showing her walking without help.

Defending, Roddy Boag said Kerr, who was sentenced to an 18-month community payback order and 150 hours of unpaid work, had already started repaying the £2613 claimed illegally.
