POLICE have received several more fresh calls in the hunt for missing book-keeper Suzanne Pilley since an emotional television appeal by her parents.

As reported, two key calls to police after a BBC Crimewatch programme pointed towards a search area in Argyll and they have now been followed by a number of other contacts from people who believe they may have clues to where the 38-year-old's body is hidden.

Ms Pilley disappeared in 2010 on the way to work in Edinburgh and although her body has not been found her former lover and colleague David Gilroy was convicted of her murder in 2012.

Ms Pilley's parents, Rob and Sylvia, appealed for help in finding her so the family could have "closure".

One of the new callers is understood to have seen a silver car that matched the description of Gilroy's Vauxhall Vectra in which police believe he transported Ms Pilley.

Police Scotland said the calls taken later in the week would be followed up before the parameters of a fresh search could be drawn up.

A police spokesman said yesterday that officers in the investigation, led by Detective Superintendent Gary Flannigan, would respond to "every single person" who came forward with information and thanked the public for their response.

The hunt has focused on the Argyll Forest. Gilroy is thought to have disposed of Ms Pilley's remains somewhere between Inverary and Tyndrum.
