A DRUGS squad detective has been cleared of a string of assaults on suspects.
Russell Gillespie, a detective constable with Tayside Police, was accused of six assaults and a breach of the peace while on duty in Dundee and Perth in 2010 and 2011. The jury cleared him in less than two hours.
