Andy Luck, a motorcycle paramedic in Glasgow, is one of hundreds of pancreatic cancer sufferers left devastated after the first new drug to fight the disease in almost two decades was rejected by Scotland's medicines watchdog.

Mr Luck says it is "playing Russian roulette with his life".

Officials say Abraxane offers a "substantial improvement" in life expectancy, and it is routinely available in England. However, the Scottish Medicines Consortium ruled out its use by the Scottish NHS due to cost.
