World Cup fever is growing around the globe in anticipation of tomorrow's opening ceremony.
But it appears many women are dreading the wall-to-wall TV coverage of the sport over the next four weeks.
A poll has revealed fewer than one-quarter of women in the UK will be following the tournament, which kicks off in Sao Paolo with hosts Brazil playing Croatia.
The YouGov poll of 1100 women also found disputes over the beautiful game will be a source of family arguments. It said 24% will be showing a keen interest in the contest and 15% called football an enjoyable family pastime.
The poll for ITV's Loose Women revealed 34% believed there was too much of the sport on TV.
Presentators Alan Hansen and Adrian Chiles, aided by Scotland manager Gordon Strachan, will front BBC and ITV's coverage.
