THE Forestry Commission is preparing to embark on a programme of work on Ben A'an in the Trossachs, which will conserve the landscape for walkers and other users.
The work, due to get under way in September, includes felling of trees near the Ben A'an hill path as well as work to upgrade the path and replanting of native species. The work is part of The Great Trossachs Forest Project that was launched in 2009 which aims to restore Scotland's native woodland.
As a result the Ben A'an hill path and car park adjacent to the A821 by the shores of Loch Achray will be closed from June 23 to 27.
Will Huckerby, of Forestry Commission Scotland, said the closure was necessary for the "protection and maintenance" of the path "so it can continue to be enjoyed for years to come".
