CLARINET player Ewan Zuckert has hit the right note with the organisers of a musical award scheme.

The 21-year-old from Edinburgh, who is a member of The National Youth Orchestra of Scotland, was in Glasgow yesterday to receive the first £2,000 prize from the Colin MacLean Bursary Fund.

Mr MacLean played a key role in establishing the orchestra in the 1970s, chairing the steering committee and gathering support to bring the idea to fruition. He remained involved with it until his death in June last year.
