WHISKY worth more than £10,000 has been stolen from a distillery's visitor centre.

A number of bottles of valuable whisky were taken from Glenglassaugh distillery in Portsoy, Aberdeenshire, some time between 4.30pm on Tuesday and 9.30am on Wednesday.

Among the bottles taken were 37-year-old and 40-year-old Glenglassaugh malt whiskies.

Four pot stills and a number of Lyle & Scott jumpers are also missing.

Constable Geraint Kalies said: "This is a very unusual theft and I am appealing for any witnesses who may have any information regarding the identity of the persons responsible.

"I would ask that anyone who is offered whisky or clothing branded with Glenglassaugh distillery contacts Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
