More than 30 drawings, watercolours and prints newly added to Scotland's national art collections have gone on show.

A new exhibition, First Sight, opens today at the Scottish National Gallery in Edinburgh with several newly purchased pictures including works by Rembrandt and Cezanne.

The show runs until October 12 and includes a watercolour by James Skene of Rubislaw inspired by The Heart of Midlothian, the celebrated novel by his close friend Sir Walter Scott.

Admission is free.
